To clear up any misunderstanding, I, Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, ex-drummer of Sólstafir, am posting on this account. Since I am being stonewalled by my ex-bandmates I will be releasing a statement later on today about my absence from the band.
I am truly sorry it had to come to this.

Since today Gummis Facebook-Account is invisible or maybe closed… This feels strange. But we should all take a break and wait for a statement from both sites. I love all four of this genius musicians and I hope also everything will be sorted.

I hope all will be well and it’s only a temporary abscence and not terminal. I know that talking to the other guys is the hardest thing to do right now, but silence only makes things worse. Talking and reveiling one’s mind in a constructive way can lead to a positive outcome for both sides and binds together!
Keep your mind sharp and don’t hesitate to make them listen and truly tell what goes around in your head 🙂

I love all of you guys. I hope that your friendship isn’t in jeopardy. You guys are brothers and sometimes brothers just need to punch each other. But I know you all love each other deep in your hearts. You couldn’t make the magnificent art that you have without a lot of love.

I hope Solstafir without Gummi is not fixed. Speak Face to Face ( not with/over Manager etc.) to clear your Problems. Your must play Music as Solstafir,please, and Solstafir are: Aðalbjörn Tryggvason, Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, Sæþór Maríus Sæþórsson, Svavar Austmann Traustason

I’m a fairly new fan and I saw Sólstafir in Dayton, OH, but I didn’t know much about the band’s background besides the basics. When I noticed you weren’t there, I thought maybe you were ill and just sitting out a couple gigs until I did more research. Sorry to hear the sad news. I don’t know much about the music business, but isn’t there a contract when it comes to touring? I just find it odd they found a new replacement in an eye’s wink. BTW, I was blatantly told “NO” when Addi asks for song requests (twice) and I requested “Pale Rider”. Half of which, I was told by Svabbi, that they hadn’t practiced it with “the new drummer”. So whether they are tired of playing old classics (but new to us in the U.S., they forget) the fans lose, too, because you know the songs! Hope it works out for you and hope to see you in the U.S. someday…
